A Time to Grieve and a Time to Plant

Penny’s sermon this morning responds to these very fraught times in the country, A Time to Grieve and a Time to Plant.

In your comment, it would be wonderful if you would please include which seed you plan to plant these next weeks and months  We are many, and it would be deeply encouraging to all of us.  Thank you!

  1. I just finished watching your sermon, right after I read Patricia Pearce’s recent post on ”The Reality of Oneness.” So, that was a powerful 1/2 hour or so! Thanks, once again, for your clarity, your authenticity and your down-to-Earth wisdom. Of course, planting seeds in the soil of our own consciousness could not be a more appropriate topic, once we remove those twigs and branches (aka 2×4’s).

    Blessings in abundance,
    Joanne

  2. Dearest, it was good to hear your sermon on this Sunday, and to sit with the plangency and resonance of my own personal two-by-four. I regard the vast expanse of time between now and January 20 with the same dread I had in the pit of my stomach in late February, and am not sure any seed I can plant between now and then can set flowers, much less bear fruit. What I can promise myself to do is to sit with my journal every morning instead of leaping to check the news. Thank you for your good words; when I hear your voice, my bones settle in my body exactly as they did in 1994, and my breathing slows, and I stop running in circles and start listening.

    1. oh my dear Jen…if you were the only reader, I would be glad and grateful.
I send you all patience and depth and nourishment. Please take care of yourself. I am giving myself right now a week of quiet…a marvelous healing, for sure, along with a daily Teaching that has me staggering with its brilliance and appropriateness. Please keep me in your prayers. As I do you…
